At Sanderson Strawn, we are a family-founded CPA firm led by Terry Sanderson and Will Strawn. Rooted in faith and family values, we are dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere where both our staff and clients feel supported and respected. Our mission is to provide exceptional accounting, tax, and advisory services while treating everyone with the care and integrity we would expect for ourselves.

Terry Sanderson

Terry Sanderson began his public accounting career in 1982 with the international accounting firm of Deloitte in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1988, he joined his father’s CPA firm in Huntsville, Alabama (Taylor, Snyder & Company) and has practiced in the Huntsville market for the last 40 years.

Terry graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Alabama in 1982 and received his Certificate of Public Accountancy in 1984. He represents small businesses from Huntsville, Alabama, to Niagara, New York, across industries including automotive, construction contractors, warehousing, transportation, construction material suppliers, retail, real estate development, legal services, and medical practices.

Terry is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Alabama Society of CPAs. He is a past Chairman of the Huntsville Chapter of CPAs and vice-chairman of the Peer Review Committee of the Alabama Society of CPAs. He has also served on numerous non-profit boards of directors in the Huntsville area.

Terry is married to the former Kathy Strawn. They have three sons and nine grandchildren who are his pride and joy. Active in the Huntsville tennis community, Terry also enjoys golfing, University of Alabama sports, and cheering on his grandchildren in their various activities. He and Kathy attend West Huntsville Baptist Church in Huntsville.

Will Strawn

Will Strawn is a Certified Public Accountant with extensive experience supporting both small businesses and larger companies in addressing their accounting and tax needs or issues. Will is dedicated to simplifying complex financial concepts and providing clear, practical guidance. He takes pride in building strong relationships with his clients and helping them achieve their goals. 

A graduate of the University of Alabama, Will earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. His educational background, paired with years of hands-on experience, allows him to offer tailored solutions designed to meet the unique needs of each client.

Will is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Alabama Society of CPAs. He has served in various community roles, including on the board of directors at Cove Church, where he and his wife attend church.

Will is married to Lindsay Strawn, and they share their home with an energetic goldendoodle named Sully. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, golfing, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide at football and basketball games. Will is passionate about supporting his clients and looks forward to helping them reach their financial goals.
